What Should I Consider When Travelling in a Compression Garment?

Before considering garment use during postoperative travel, the journey itself should be approved by your doctor.

Obtain Clearance to Travel First

When you can take a long journey or fly after surgery depends on the procedure and your health. Wearing a compression garment does not automatically make travel safe.

Discuss your plans with your surgeon in advance, especially if your operation was recent.

Check Your Garment During the Journey

If you stay in one position for a long time, check for folds in the garment. Do not change the wearing schedule or method of use yourself because you are travelling.

Follow any instructions from your doctor about movement, hydration or other precautions during travel.
