How Should I Wash and Care for My Compression Garment?
Explains how following the care label and using suitable washing, drying and storage methods help preserve elasticity and shape.
Washing
Follow the instructions on your garment's care label. Do not exceed the specified washing temperature or use a different wash programme.
High temperatures can damage elastic fabrics. Lukewarm water and a mild detergent are generally gentler options. Avoid bleach and fabric softener.
Drying
Do not tumble dry the garment; high heat can permanently reduce its elasticity.
Hanging can stretch a garment under its own weight. After gently removing excess water with a towel, dry it flat away from direct sunlight to help preserve its shape.
Storage
Fold the garment and store it in a cool, dry place. Damp storage can cause odour and hygiene problems.
Keep zips and hook-and-eye fastenings closed during storage to prevent snagging on other fabrics.
