What Should You Consider When Wearing a Compression Garment After Abdominoplasty?

After abdominoplasty, the compression garment should suit the incision area, the extent of treatment and the patient's everyday movements.

Pay Attention to the Incision Area

After abdominoplasty, consider how the garment sits in relation to the incision. Its edges, zip or other fastenings should not place uncomfortable pressure on sensitive areas.

Combined Procedures May Require a Different Garment

If abdominoplasty is combined with procedures such as liposuction, the areas requiring compression may be more extensive. Selecting a garment for the abdomen alone may not be sufficient.

Choose an appropriate style and length according to the areas your surgeon wants supported.

Monitor Fit Throughout Recovery

As swelling subsides, the garment's fit may change. If it becomes noticeably loose or slips repeatedly, your current measurements may need reassessment.
