Can I Exercise While Wearing a Postoperative Compression Garment?

Explains that returning to exercise depends on surgical recovery. Wearing a garment is not a reason to resume activity early.

A Garment Does Not Mean You Are Cleared for Exercise

Wearing a compression garment does not mean you can resume activities your surgeon has not yet permitted. The garment supports recovery; it does not replace the healing process.

Your surgeon determines when you can return to exercise based on the extent of your procedure and your progress.

A Gradual Return

Once exercise is permitted, activity is usually resumed gradually. Starting with gentle walking and increasing intensity over time is a common approach.

If you experience pain, excessive tightness or discomfort during exercise, stop and consult your healthcare team.
