Liposuction in Summer: What Should Patients Consider?

Seasonal guidance on wearing compression in hot weather, with attention to sweating, skin checks, hygiene and everyday comfort.

Wearing Compression in Hot Weather

Heat and sweating can make wearing a compression garment more challenging in summer. However, hot weather is not a reason to change your wearing schedule on your own.

If you are struggling with your prescribed wear time, discuss it with your surgeon so the plan can be reviewed together.

Sweating and Hygiene

Regular cleaning becomes even more important when sweating increases. A second garment can be practical: wear one while the other is being washed.

Do not leave the garment damp. Make sure it has dried completely after washing.

Checking Your Skin

Skin may be more prone to irritation in hot, humid conditions. Check your skin when you remove the garment.

Tell your healthcare team if you notice redness, irritation or an unexpected skin change.

Everyday Comfort

Lightweight, breathable clothes worn over the garment can improve comfort. Avoiding long periods in direct sunlight may also help.

Drinking plenty of water and resting during the hottest part of the day can support your general comfort.
