Returning to Work After Liposuction: What Should You Consider?

General guidance on returning to work, including movement, physical demands, clothing and compression garment use.

Return-to-Work Timing Is Individual

When you return to work depends on the extent of surgery, your recovery and how physically demanding your work is. Make this decision with your surgeon.

Desk-based work and physically demanding work do not necessarily require the same recovery time.

Wearing Your Garment at Work

Your wearing schedule continues when you return to work. You do not need to remove the garment at work, but avoiding long periods in one position can improve comfort.

If you sit for long periods, getting up occasionally for a short walk may help, within the limits your surgeon permits.

Choosing Clothing

Loose, breathable clothes worn over your garment can improve comfort and make it less visible.

Tight belts and trousers around the waist may be unsuitable early in recovery because they can add pressure at the garment's edges.

Do Not Overexert Yourself

Returning to work does not mean recovery is complete. Take breaks when you feel tired and increase activity gradually.
