How Should You Care for Your Compression Garment to Preserve Its Shape?
Washing, drying, storage and everyday care habits that help preserve your compression garment's elasticity and shape.
Check the Care Label First
Each product has its own care instructions, which always take priority. General recommendations do not replace the information on the label.
Washing
High temperatures can damage fabrics containing elastic fibres. Lukewarm water and a mild detergent are generally a safer choice.
Bleach damages the fabric structure. Fabric softener can leave residue on elastic fibres and reduce support. Avoid both.
Drying
Tumble drying is a common cause of permanent loss of elasticity. Do not tumble dry the garment.
Hanging the garment to dry can stretch it under its own weight. Remove excess water with a towel, then dry it flat to help preserve its shape.
Everyday Care
Avoid pulling hard on a single point when putting the garment on or taking it off, as this can distort the fabric locally.
Store the garment folded in a cool, dry place. Close its fastenings to prevent them from catching on other fabrics.
